Help Shape the Future of Inclusive Support
Are you passionate about making a difference in your community? Do you want to be part of a forward-thinking charity that places people at the heart of everything we do? Encompass Care is expanding our Board and we’re excited to welcome new Volunteer Trustees to join our team.
Encompass Care is a not-for-profit charity that provides support to adults with learning disabilities, autism, and mental health needs across Dorset and Somerset. We are proud of our inclusive approach and strong values-led culture. As we continue to grow and innovate, we’re looking for new Trustees who can help guide our journey.
We welcome applications from people with a broad range of skills, and we’re particularly keen to hear from individuals with knowledge or experience in the following areas:
Finance
Fundraising
Marketing
Safeguarding
Health & Safety
Wellbeing
People Engagement
We are especially interested in hearing from people with lived experience of learning disabilities or mental health needs. As part of our strategic priority around People, Relationships & Connections, we believe that true representation matters β your voice at the table ensures we stay rooted in the needs of the people we support.
"We are looking for enthusiastic people with good social skills and good management skills who are fair in the way they support people. It is important that they would enjoy getting to know us and other people we support."
β Jamie and Anthony, on behalf of Encompass Voices
As a Trustee, you will:
Contribute to the strategic direction of Encompass Care
Support and challenge the Executive Leadership Team
Attend Board meetings (six per year) and committee meetings (quarterly)
Help ensure good governance and financial stewardship
Participate in service visits and events to connect with staff and the people we support
You’ll be part of a friendly, collaborative, and committed Board of Trustees that truly values the input of every member.
“As the Board of Trustees for Encompass, we proactively oversee, support, and offer guidance to the CEO and Executive Team. We’re very much part of the wider Encompass family, regularly visiting services and attending events to stay connected with our people. It’s a rewarding and dynamic environment to be part of.”
