Encompass Care Bulletin - May 2022

11th May 2022

Dear Colleagues,

2021-22 was a turbulent, highly complex year for our Operations Business Partner and her team. This did not deter them, and I commend their resilience, innovations and efficiencies which have been inspiring and at all times kept both our service users and staff safe. We are living and thriving with Covid. Our Finance Team have met new challenges with vigour and commitment, inviting new ways of working which have underpinned efficiencies in systems and processes, not least the collaborative work with Operations to deliver value for money and options to curb costs. Our business year ended with an operational trading deficit as projected due to our experience with Dorset Council not offering an uplift to cover the rise in the National Minimum Wage and inflation. When we have addressed the staffing retention and recruitment concerns, we will improve our occupancy levels, providing support for more people. We embark on a new financial year and a bright new future with a new Charity name and branding. The Board engaged with our teams to develop our future 3-year strategy and we plan to have the Strategy Handbook published from 1st August 2022.

Kind regards Viv, CEO.

Encompass Care Adopts TAP's Thanking Platform!

“We are excited to use TAP to really spread the positive vibes among our teams during what has been a very hard couple of years. The world is getting back to normal but unfortunately for Health and Social Care the pandemic is still something we are battling. Our staff are loyal and determined to keep going and this is a great way of giving everyone a platform to spread their thanks, gratitude, and genuine positivity to others. It is an excellent way of showing support and recognition for everyone that is linked to the Encompass Care team”, - Hannah Harrison, Recruitment and Social Media Officer, Encompass Care."

“Hi, I started working at Encompass about 6 months ago, so I’m still fairly new to the company. I started as an Admin Assistant but since being here, my role has changed to Quality & Development Support Officer where I assist with sites management, training, and transport. At home, I have a cat called Jazz and I also love horse riding.”

"Hi, I've joined Ecompass Care in April as Service Improvement Officer.
I previously worked for Dorset Council in the HR and Payroll Department. I look forward to being part of Encompass Care's future as we introduce new systems and help our Charity grow. I am Mum to Lucy and Freddie and our dog Bella, have a part-time business and just started running."

Hannah Harrison

“Hello! I am the Encompass Care Recruitment and Social Media officer and a busy mum of 3. I was offered this new role in September 2021 whilst I was a Team Leader at one of our supported living services where I had been since 2018, starting as a Support Worker. I love thinking about new and exciting ways to shout about the great work everyone here does and really enjoy sharing the results with our followers and watching our audience grow.”
